Derek Beck is the Founder and CEO of Blue Summit Consulting Group, LLC, a Service-Disabled Veteran-Owned Small Business and Premier Authorized Training Partner (ATP) with PMI. Headquartered in Augusta, GA and operating nationwide, Blue Summit provides workforce development, instructional design, and project and organizational transformation consulting to clients across the Department of Defense, Department of Energy, USDA, Missile Defense Agency, and some of the largest federal contractors and private sector firms in industries including healthcare, automotive, mining, construction, and financial services. 

Blue Summit is known for helping clients prepare for the future of work and is recognized by PMI as having one of the highest exam take rates and first-time pass rates in the world among ATPs. 

Prior to founding Blue Summit, Derek served as a Program Manager overseeing federal contracts with responsibilities spanning museum operations, IT, and cybersecurity—including photography, social media management, graphic design, public affairs, collections management, IT project management, IT procurement, and network engineering, compliance, and accreditation. He was also selected by PMI as one of the first 44 globally certified Disciplined Agile Coaches and Instructors, contributing directly to the development of PMI’s agile certification offerings and training curriculum. 

A passionate advocate for professional development, Derek has served as President of Agile Augusta, VP of Professional Development and Training for PMI Augusta-Aiken, and board member for the U.S. Martial Arts Games Committee. He is also an active mentor for veterans and other entrepreneurs through organizations such as AUSA, AFCEA, and IVMF. 

Derek holds an MBA with a concentration in executive leadership and operations management, and master certificates in Applied Project Management and Enterprise Lean Six Sigma. His certifications include PMP, PMI-ACP, LSSBB, DAC, and Prosci Change Management Professional.
