Welcome to a new year! Please join us at our January monthly meeting, with guest speaker, Debra McDaniel.  Debra will be giving us insight into changes with PMI and about some of the great things that PMI is doing to grow and enhance our professional community!  We look forward to networking with other Project Managers and learning about this growing profession.

Debra McDaniel, MSPM, PMP is a seasoned leader with over 30 years of experience in technical and project/program management. Debra is an energetic individual who has the privilege to work with an innovative and cutting-edge team of technology professionals at Augusta University. Formerly, as the Director of the AU IT Portfolio and Project Management Office, Debra led a group of skilled professionals responsible for executing the university’s technology strategy.  In her most recent role as Director of Enterprise Change Management for Augusta University, Debra is focused on driving organizational transformation and ensuring the successful adoption of strategic initiatives.

 Debra holds a Bachelor of Science in Management Information Systems from Paine College and a Master of Science in Project Management from George Washington University. She is a certified professional in both project and change management.

 Debra loves people which makes creating and building authentic relationships important to her.  She served on the Board of Directors for the PMI Augusta-Aiken Chapter for more than a decade in various roles. Currently, she serves as a PMI Region Mentor, supporting 24 chapters across the Southeast. Debra is also a member of GA Women in Higher Education, Women of Project Management, and serves as the Project Director for her church, Restoration Ministries International.  Her commitment to community is reflected in her service as a member of the Citizens Review Panel for the United Way, participation in Women In Technology, and her volunteer work with Brown Girls Who Code.

 Debra’s greatest joy is her family. She has been married to her husband, Robert, for over 41 years. Together, they have two adult sons, Robert II and Marcus, two bonus daughters, Gynger and Ronda, and two granddaughters, Ellerie and Raelyn, with a third granddaughter expected in January 2026.
