Michael Basham serves as the Senior Vice President of Savannah River Plutonium Processing Facility (SRPPF) Project Execution for Savannah River Nuclear Solutions, LLC (SRNS) at the U.S. Department of Energy’s (DOE) Savannah River Site (SRS). In this role, he is responsible for the safe execution and delivery of the Engineering, Procurement, and Construction (EPC) of the SRPPF Project, a multi-billion-dollar capital line-item project for the National Nuclear Security Administration (NNSA).

He is a PMP-certified project director with over 20 years of experience overseeing all phases of multi-million-dollar EPC projects at various DOE sites and commercial nuclear power plants. He joined SRNS in 2019 and led the Mixed Oxide (MOX) Fuel Fabrication Facility (MFFF) Termination Project. Most recently, he served as SRNS Project Director for the Surplus Plutonium Disposition (SPD) Project and Tritium Finishing Facility (TFF) Project, where he was responsible for customers, budgets, policies, procedures, work practices and compliance programs.

Prior to joining SRNS, he oversaw the capital portfolio for NextEra Energy Nuclear Fleet out of Juno Beach, Florida. He was in-charge of executing projects related to environmental, power uprates, obsolesces and equipment reliability. His teams successfully executed the projects to ensure that the company maintained safe and reliable power for consumers. He has managed other projects at various DOE sites, ranging from the MOX Project mechanical scope under CB&I, American Centrifuge Project, Gaseous Diffusion, environmental demolition, and decontamination.
